Abstract
This publication explores the trends in disability benefit recipiency in six post-industrial societies (Denmark, Israel, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States), unravels the forces behind rising numbers, reviews policy interventions to reduce caseloads and draws more general lessons about how to design such interventions.
