 Literature Searches
A requirement for information can take many forms. We offer information services to support research in a range of formats.
- Scoping searches – we can help with input to preparing proposals, identifying and providing background documents and estimates of the size of the literature to help you develop and cost proposals more accurately.
- Search strategy development – we can discuss your requirements and develop searches to capture your specifications. We support a range of approaches from highly sensitive searches to inform systematic reviews, technology assessments, and guidelines to more pragmatic approaches for projects with fewer resources.
- Searching – we can carry out searches for you and have access to a wide range of databases in all topics.
- Web searches – searching the web systematically for information and collating the information retrieved can be a time consuming process and we have the skills to help.
- Critical appraisal of the suitability of completed searches – we can advise on whether third party searches meet a research question and how they can be amended or updated to meet new requirements.
- Record selection – even the most focused search can produce irrelevant records. We can undertake record sifting according to agreed criteria to provide highly focused results.
- Providing alerts to new research throughout the life of a project, so that you are kept up to date.
- Providing alerts for new research opportunities tailored to your requirements.
