Private Sector
YHEC offers a range of services to private sector clients.
- Economic Evaluations and HTA
YHEC has expertise in undertaking health technology assessment and economic evaluations on a range of healthcare interventions.
- Global HTA Models
YHEC specialises in the development of global models for purposes of health technology assessment. Such models have been carried out in a wide range of disease areas, and have been submitted to NICE, the SMC and the AWMSG.
- Early Modelling
Economic evaluations are increasingly used as tools to inform decision-makers about the cost-effectiveness of health technologies. Such evaluations are often undertaken during the late stages of the technology development (i.e. around the time of product launch or, in some cases, post-launch).
- Budget Impact Models
In many cases, economic evaluations are designed to show the value for money of a new technology. However, many payers, particularly those at a local level of decision making, are interested in the affordability of an intervention.
- Burden of Illness Models
YHEC undertakes burden of illness studies for any particular disease area or indication. Such studies are aimed at identifying the overall impact of an illness, including its economic cost to society, and the health consequences of that disease.
- Model Critique and Validation
Our experienced modelling team have designed a systematic approach to critiquing existing economic models for purposes such as HTA submission.
- Model Adaptation
YHEC has extensive experience in writing economic submissions to the UK health technology assessment bodies, NICE, SMC and the AWMSG. As such, we provide a service to update and adapt existing models to be generalisable to the UK setting.
- Information Services
Information is key to high quality research. Identifying and managing research evidence efficiently within projects is one of our strengths. We offer information services to support research in a range of topic areas. We also have expertise in information retrieval research and information skills training.
- Reviewing Services
YHEC offers a range of reviewing services from scoping reviews and rapid evidence reviews, through to systematic reviews to inform reimbursement decisions for bodies such as NICE. We also undertake reviews to identify research gaps, to inform the development of economic models and to summarise health-related quality of life.
